My last wedding of the 2019 season was an absolute doozy. I got to shoot at the amazing Shotton Grange for the first time which as the sister venue to another favourite of mine, The Parlour at Blagdon, I knew I was going to love before I’d even arrived. I also got to bring along the talented Gemma Smith of GS studios which made it even better as not only is she an excellent photographer but one of my closest friends.
The ceremony was at Gibside National Trust chapel which is truly stunning with the most fantastic grounds, Autumn was in full swing so there was colour everywhere, the sun was shining (despite the baltic temperature) and the people were epic. There wasn’t one miserable face in the entire place all day, everyone just had a laugh from start to finish.
Katie and Mark are perhaps one of the most laid back couples I’ve worked with. They just went with any random ideas I had (including standing in a random spot of mud at the side of the building because I could create a “tunnel of Autumn”) without question. I felt welcome and part of the party from the moment I arrived to the moment I (reluctantly) left.
A big shout out to Mark’s incredible groom persuasion skills which seen him negotiate his way into buying the most gorgeous red convertible to use as the wedding car, well played!
Thank you so much for letting me be a small part of your brilliant day. What a perfect end to a perfect year!
