Branxholm Park House is one of my absolute favourite venues. After shooting my first wedding there back in 2016 I just fell in love. Set on the Scottish Borders in Howick this beautiful house is just tucked away in a quiet little setting away from the main town. It is ran by the most amazing couple Deb and Dave who make every effort imaginable to make your special day perfect. Deb runs the kitchen and produces the best wedding food I’ve seen (and tasted) and Dave is front of house topping drinks up and generally just helping the day flow smoothly. The whole atmosphere is that of a relaxed family house party. Rather than having one big entertaining space the house has loads of indoor and outdoor space for guests to spread out through with everything from outdoor lawn garden games, pizza ovens and a cosy fire pit to indoor games and cinema rooms and, my absolute favourite, the secret wine cellar that leads into an underground karaoke cavern! There’s something for everyone.

When Becky and Sean asked me to shoot their wedding at Branxholm I couldn’t be more pleased. They sounded exactly like my kind of people and I knew I was going to have a great day, and be well fed, Deb doesn’t half look after me! The wedding was perfect, both families had travelled from near and far and everyone made the most of the opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy such an amazing day. The speeches were hilarious, the dancing was wild and to top it all off just as we went to walk Becky to the ceremony suite a chicken turned up to escort her. You couldn’t plan this stuff! This is all the part of the charm of this wonderful place.
